Mrs.Bessie P. Malone, age 87, died Monday, April 28, 1997, at Dale's Personal Care. Mrs. Malone was born on July 10, 1909, in Lamar County, Alabama, She was the daughter of Luther D. and Mollie Pennington. She was a retired employee of United Technologies. She was a member of the Mr. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Malone. Funeral Services will be held today, April 30, 1997 at 10 a.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bro. Ralph Windle will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Survivors include a son, Robert Malone of Columbus, Mississippi; sisters: Lorene Doughty and Lydia Crossley, both of Columbus, MS; three grandchildren; and a grea-grandchild. Active pallbearers will be Floyd Bostick, Billy Crossley, Ray Crane, Trenton Sheffield, Bobby Suggs and Ralph Youngblood. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1791 Lake Lowndes Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
