Waseca- Former salesman and supper club owner Gerard “Jerry” McShane, 76, Waseca, died Thursday, June 4, 1992, at Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart church in Waseca, the Rev. Joseph Mountain officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Mr. McShane was born Oct 3, 1915, in Waseca County, to John and Ellen (Devine) McShane. He married Joyce McGowan July 1, 1948, in Minneapolis. He served for four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII, handling medical supplies in Africa for Douglas Aircraft. He joined the Merchant Marines and served in the South Pacific. He worked as a salesman for Squibb Drug in the Mankato area from 1945 to 1957. He owned and operated Oaks Supper Club in Fairmont from 1957 to 1966. He managed other clubs in Iowa and Minnesota until retiring in 1977. He was a member of the VFW and Sacred Heart in Waseca.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ambrose and Raymond and two sisters, Emily and Kathleen. Mankato Free Press, June 9, 1992
