Rev. Junius Benson Countryman was the son of John Abraham Isaac and Magdalena "Lany" Sarah (Snyder) Countryman. He was the brother of Rev. Abram Fletcher Countryman. Rev. Countryman was the husband of Eleanor (Brownell) Countryman. They were married June 20, 1867. Eleanor died May 19, 1936. Rev. Countryman was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York)/now Upper New York) Conference 1864 F1866 East Genesee Conference by transfer 1869 Genesee Conference by change of boundaries 1872 East Genesee Conference at reorganization and to Genesee Conference by consolidation 1876.
