Nora F. Dettman, 99, of Falls City, died January 1, 2005 at Falls City. She was born February 2, 1905 at Norton, KS to the late Warren E. White and Flora (Headley) White.
She married Clifford Dettman on December 26, 1924 at Hiawatha, KS. He died May 28, 1977.
Nora lived in Texas and Missouri before moving to Verdon, NE and graduating Verdon High School in 1923. She attended Peru College and taught in the rural schools. After their marriage the couple established their home at Verdon, then moved to a farm West of Stella, fifteen years later they moved North of Stella where they lived for 11 years and then moved North of Falls City and 10 years later moved near Oneida, KS for two years and then I October of 1967 they moved into Stella. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church at Verdon.
Nora is survived by her daughters, Mildred Buethe and Eldona Workman of Plattsmouth, NE, Norma Schutte and her husband Eugene of Lincoln, NE, Doris Shafer and her husband Wayne of Stella, Marlys Devries and her husband Scott of Lake City, IA, sons, Dale and his wife Naomi of Auburn, Loy and his wife Marge of Stella, Wayne of Sabetha, KS and Weldon and his wife Sharon of Humboldt. 15 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son in infancy, a daughter, Colene Shrader, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on January 4, 2005 1:30 PM at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home with Wayne Shafer officiating. Interment will be in Verdon Cemetery.
