Franklin Vandruff, age 60 years, former well known merchant of Kirby, died Sunday morning, July 14, in the sanitorium at Torrance, Pa., where he had been a patient for several weeks. Mr. Vandruff was a son of John and Clarinda Vandruff, and was born in Perry Township, July 19, 1875, and spent his entire life in Greene county. For a number of years he engaged in the mercantile business at Brock and also at Gump. He was also a barber by trade. In 1912 Mr. Vandruff was united in marriage with Miss Rosella Reed, who survives, with the following children: Gladys, wife of Raymond Fox, of Brock; Bryan, Florence, Wesley and Elizabeth, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. James E. (Mary) Moore, Spraggs, R. D., and Mrs. Katherine Gass of Kirby, and one brother, William Vandruff, of Spraggs, also survive.
