Betty A. Springsteen of rural Mayville died Friday,November 10,1995 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. She was 72.She was born July 6,1923 at Flushing, daughter of the late Claude and Vivian (Nichols) Root. She married Max Springsteen on August 15,1942 at Flushing. She was a homemaker and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post 10884 of Mayville.
Survivors include her husband, Max; seven children—four
daughters and three sons—Judy and husband Don Lichnovsky of
Vassar, Deborah and husband Michael Trombly of Mayvtlle, Diane of Mayville, Becky and husband Jim Bodeis of Mayville, Randy and wife Debbie of Escanaba, Scott and wife Diana of Mayville, and Terry and wife Cindy of Millington; 28 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren;
a sister, Evajean and husband Duane Yorton of Clio; a
brother, John and wife Pearl Root of Montrose; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by a granddaughter, two great grandsons, a brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Mon., Nov. 13 at the Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville. The Rev. Brad Long officiated, with burial in the Watertown Township Cemetery, Fostoria.
Arrangements were made by Hudson Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family.


Betty's husband, Max Glenn Springsteen, World War II veteran and V.F.W. Post Sr. Vice Commander at Kingston, They were married in Genesee County, he is the son of Claude H Springsteen,​ Ora E Springsteen
