Rev. Albert Martin Dies at age of 64
The Rev. Albert Martin, well-known Christian minister in Northwest Missouri, died this morning at his home, 2201 Eugene Field avenue. He was 64 years old.
At the time of his death, the Rev. Mr. Martin was pastor of the Gower, Mo. Christian Church, and the Holt, Mo. Christian Church, preaching two Sundays each month at the churches. On last April 25, he with the assistance of his son, the Rev. D. Allen Martin, pastor of Ivanhoe Park Christian Church at Kansas City, dedicated a new organ at the Gower church.
That date marked the 11 anniversary of the dedication of the church building and the 20th year of the Rev. Mr. Martin's ministry there. He was also pastor of the Craig, Mo. Christian Church 20 years. The Rev. Mr. Martin was spoken of as having charge of more wedding and more funerals than any other minister of this locality, and only yesterday officated at a wedding from his sick bed.
A retired mail carrier, the Rev. Mr. Martin worked out of Forest City, Mo., 30 years.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Martin of the home; two daughters Mrs. Howard Harrison, San Diego, Cal., and Mrs Lloyd Mathews, Oregon, Mo., and one granson.
The body is at the Pettijohn mortuaty at Oregon.
