During her youth, she joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS.
On January 4, 1938, she married Isiah Baylor, the son of Major Baylor and Dora Morrison Baylor, who was also a native of Kemper County, MS, and they had five children, three sons and two daughters.
She died August 10, 2010, at the age of 97.
