Nellie Shelby, 88, died Friday (July 20, 1990) in a local hospital. She was retired from United Hosiery Mills and was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Chattanooga. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters, Josephine Weaver, Chattanooga, Ernestine Potts and Virginia Beatty, Both of Summitt; son, Charles Shelby, San Antonio, Texas; sister, Betty Hassler, Estill Springs, Tennessee; three brothers, Jim Luttrell, Lansing, Michigan, Foster Luttrell, Greensboro, North Carolina, and Tom Luttrell, Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Long officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by the Valley View Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
