Joe Cecil Stacy, 89, of White County, passed away Aug. 4, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Stacy was born Feb. 22, 1921, in White County, to John and Mary Jane Cunningham Stacy.

He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was also retired from Thomas Industries. He was a member of American Legion Post #99.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane Looney Stacy; and a daughter, Wanda Brown.

Survivors include his four daughters, Peggy Bandy and husband Jim, of Nashville; Louise Girdley and husband Keith, of Sparta; Fay Denton and husband Richard, of Sparta; Debbie Rice and husband Billy, of Wartburg; two sisters, Gladys Flatt, of Sparta, Pauline Howard, of Nashville; son-in-law, Sammy Brown, of LaVergne;
nine grandchildren, Chad Bandy and wife Ashley, of Nashville; Tina Russell and husband Phil, of Lafayette, Denis Colwell and husband Barry, of Sparta, Chris Brown and wife Dena, of Gallatin, Seidina Eubanks and Micheal, of LaVergne, Richie Denton, of Sparta, Stacey and Shannon Weaver, of Sparta, Brandon Rice and Dillon Rice both of Wartburg; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Aug. 7, 2010, at Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Sam Davis and Derrick Coble will officiate.

The Veterans Honor Guard will provide full military honors and serve as pallbearers.
