United States Army Surgeon. He was commissioned as an Assistant Surgeon in the United States Army on August 10, 1882. He served until his death on active duty at Fort Logan, Denver County, Colorado on February 6, 1896.

1882 graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia.

Son of Rear Admiral Edward Y. Macauley.
