WELLING, OK-Carolyn Anita Sanders was born on May 6th, 1948 in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Dennis Willard and Pauline Marie (Turner) Sanders. The Lord called Carolyn to her eternal home on Sunday, July 3rd, 2011 in Tahlequah, OK. She was sixty three years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Her parents served as teachers and administrators at Laverne, OK, Willard,OK and Rocky Mountain School near Stilwell,OK. Carolyn graduated from Stilwell High School. She then began her career at NSU, majoring in Elementary Education. It was at this time her health began to fail. Carolyn stayed with her parents, assisting them with their many projects. When her mother began teaching at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas, Carolyn continued her piano lessons, a passion that lasted all of her adult life. Eventually, Carolyn played piano at the church. She was baptized in 1986 and became an active member of Caney General Baptist Church in Welling. Whenever she was not at the piano, you could find Carolyn on the phone calling her many family and friends to check on the latest events of their day.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother. She also leaves a sister and her husband; brother; Her five nieces and nephew; three great-nieces and nephews; her loving aunts and uncles; and as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her dad, Dennis Sanders Sr., her niece, Sonja Fite, and her sister in-law, Tonya Sanders.
A very special thank you is sent out to the staff of Grace Living Center and Rivercross Hospice for the tender loving care given to Carolyn and her family.
Funeral services for Carolyn Anita Sanders will be held on Friday, July 8th, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Reverend Charles Duvall officiating. Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
