The funeral of George W. Robinson, of Lumberport, took place with services at his home and burial in the Lumberport Cemetery.
A large throng attended the obsequies and paid tribute to the dead man who was widely known and highly esteemed throughout the county.Mr. Robinson was born Nov. 24, 1821 and his wife, who was Miss Amelia Boggess, was born Jan. 15, 1824 and died Oct. 2, 1893. To them were born eleven children as follows: Mary M. born May 6, 1845; Fletcher born Jan. 12, 1847; Josephine born Jan. 6, 1849; Camisee D. born March 7, 1851; Melissa F. born Nov. 27, 1855; Bruce born Oct. 1, 1857; Florantha K. born March 22, 1860; Francis M. born Jan. 3, 1863; Virginia B. born Nov. 29, 1865 and Ransler C. born Dec. 4, 1868.Of these children, the following died on the dates indicated: Melissa F. Aug. 21, 1907; Florantha K. Aug 10, 1865; Josephine Swager May 15, 1906; and Mary M. Oct. 1, 1881.Mr. Robinson leaves forty-four living grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
