A resident here 18 months, he retired in 1960 after 47 years with Humble Oil and Refining Co. He was a superintendent for the company. He moved here from the Kelsey-Bass Camp near Falfurrias. Born in Elliott, he was a member of the Baptist Church, Hull – Daisett Masonic Lodge, AF&AM, Scottish Rite and the Arabian Shrine of Houston.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lola Bass; one son, Franklin of Corpus Christi; one sister, Mrs. Eliza Stagel of La Porte, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel of First Baptist Church with Dan McClendon officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park.
