John Earl "Buddy" Schetrompf Sr., 72, of 17226 Reiff Church Road,Hagerstown, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital,Chambersburg, Pa. Born April 10, 1930, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Jacob Leroy and Grace Bishop Schetrompf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian "Patty" Savage Schetrompf. He was employed by Mack Trucks for 29 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. He was a member of AARP and UAW Retired Workers Local 171. He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia McGilliard of Waynesboro, Pa., and Carol A. Hartman of Smithsburg; three sisters, Rosetta Hermerath of Scottsdale,Ariz., Darlene King of Connellsville, Pa., and Linda Forrester of Beaver,Pa.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, John E.Schetrompf Jr. and Scott T. Schetrompf, and two brothers, Donald Schetrompf and James Schetrompf. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Odell Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home."
