Mrs. Garofalo was a member of Newell United Methodist Church.
She obtained her diploma from Washington Hospital School of Nursing and bachelor of science degree in nursing from California University of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Garofalo was a licensed registered nurse for the last 35 years and worked at Brownsville General Hospital for 23 years.
For the last 12 years, she held the position of infection control and employee health nurse for Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice.
She was a certified infection control practitioner and long-standing member of the national organization, APIC.
She was co-owner, with Sally Stitt, of A Beautiful Thought Flowers and Gifts in Brownsville.
