Ms. Phyllis Justice Cordle, age 73 of Pounding Mill, Virginia passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late, Myrtle Ball Justice Scott and Henry Justice.

She was a graduate of Richlands High School, Class of 1954 and had worked many years as an Administrative Assistant at Ingersoll-Rand of Claypool Hill, Virginia. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to keep busy, and to spend time with her family. She was a member of Community Heights Church in Wardell, VA and a lifetime resident of the area.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen B. Cordle, and her step-father Mr. Scott.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and very special and caring friends.

Funeral services for Phyllis Cordle will be conducted Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev's Craig Barber and Alan Jessee officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ira Herndon and Dairel Bobbitte. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
