Elizabeth Welter, daughter of Nicholas Welter and Margaret Meyer, was a native of Goodings Grove in Homer Township, Will, Illinois. She was the fourth of nine siblings. Elizabeth married Mathias Koenig, son of William Koenig, on 15 Oct 1898 in Lemont, Cook, Illinois. The couple settled in Chicago. Elizabeth died at age 72 and was interred in Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery on 11 Nov 1940.
