Alta Viola Sailors, 85, of 569 Sharon School Road, Statesville, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at her residence.
Born on May 31, 1926, one of six children to Mr. & Mrs Odes Cook of Catawba County. She was married to the late Fred Sailors of Lawndale, NC. She was retired from Century Furniture as a Final Inspector and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Lawndale, NC.
She had four children and was cared for the last twenty years by her loving daughter, Carolyn Sailors Setzer, son-in-law, Thomas Setzer and loving granddaughter Jessica Setzer.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Alvin, Grady, and Roy Cook.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Sailors and wife Kay of Lawndale; three daughters, Carolyn Setzer and husband Tom of Statesville, Kay Bingham and husband Henry of Fallston, Diane Hedrick and husband Jim of Vale; two sisters, Lucille Wagner of Conover and Joann Sigmon of Burnsville; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation, 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Sunday, Zion Hill Baptist Church , Lawndale. The body will placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.

Burial, Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Lawndale.
