Arthur P. Baer, age 70, of 3131 Southbrook Court, Manitowoc died Wednesday evening, March 10, 1999, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieramski, O.F.M. with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Arthur was born September 27, 1928, in Kiel, Wis., son of the late John and Julia Escher Baer. He attended St. Gregory Parochial School in St. Nazianz. On August 7, 1948, he married the former Bernice Scheller at Hankinson, North Dakota. Arthur farmed for 45 years in the town of Eaton, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Lake to Lake Dairy Association.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Manitowoc: two sons and daughters-in-laws, John and Marcia Baer of Oconomowoc, Leon and Julie Baer of Collins: one daughter and son in-law, Sandy and John McCarthy of Manitowoc: nine grandchildren, Eric, Crystal and Adam Baer, Ryan and Amanda Baer, and Casey, Rebecca, Theresa and Brittany McCarthy: one sister, Ione Rausch of Chilton: one sister-in-law Peggy Baer of New Holstein. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Baer: and one brother-in-law, Norbert Rausch.
Art was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and listening to old time music.
