SEARSPORT – Mildred S. Marden, 105, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at Harbor Hill Center, Belfast. She was born April 17, 1907, in Bradford, daughter of Freeland and Alice Smith.

Mildred was a fine seamstress and good cook; she taught piano lessons and played the piano at church. She was a member of Searsport Congregational Church, the local Grange and the Rebekah's.

Mildred is survived by one son, Arnold Gray and wife, Phyllis; one daughter-in-law, Arlene Marden; grandchildren, Dianna Soo, Colleen Kreps, Valerie Grove, Michael Marden, Perry Marden, John Marden and Raylene Marden; as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene D. Marden; and one son, Eugene W. Marden.

Burial will be at Pilgrim's Home Cemetery, Monroe. (Bangor Daily news posted 6/11/2012)
