Elizabeth R. Bergene, 71, of rural Cato, died Monday morning, November 16, 1987 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders. Rev. Carl Peters will officiate with burial at Gjerpen Cemetery.
Mrs. Bergene was born November 18, 1915 in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc county, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Vraney Andres. She attended Rockwood schools and married Norman Bergene on July 3, 1940 at Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, Norman; a son and a daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Bergene of Valders; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joan and James Kokesch of Athelstane, Wisconsin, Janice Leschke of Manitowoc, Nancy and James Kunish of Kiel and Kathleen and Wayne Dehne of Two Rivers; a brother, John Andres of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Charles L. (Martha) Cisler of Branch and Mrs. Mildred Kiel of Cato; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders from 6 pm to 9 pm this Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
