Jerry died Thursday at Bloomington Hospital. He was the son of Beryl S. and Hallie Bottom Foster. He graduated from Indiana University in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in business.

He was director of Indiana Clubs for the Indiana University Alumni Association. He was the former owner and operator of White Star Meat Processing in Columbus.

While living in Columbus, he worked with the United Way of Bartholomew County and helped raise money for the Columbus branch of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. He also was active in the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the IU Varisty Club of Bartholomew County and served as its president in 1985. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nashvile and the IU Alumni Association.

Survivers include his wife, Janis Sue Mivelaz Foster and a brother, Gregory.

Services will be Monday at the United Methodist Church in Nashville with the Revs. Phillip D. Frew and Robert C. Holmes officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday at the Bond-Mitchell Serenity Chapel in Nashville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Nashville.
