Actress and model. A popular glamour girl from a young age, she had a brief but significant career as a B-movie villainess of the 1950s. Raised in New York City, she began her professional modeling career at nine and won a newspaper-sponsored beauty contest at eleven. By 16 she was appearing at Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe and was soon to make her stage debut in Boston. After dancing in Havana and working as a Broadway chorus girl, Beverly traveled to Hollywood where she made her silver screen debut with the 1949 "East Side, West Side" and soon entered into a brief and turbulent marriage with the much older producer Valdemar Vetluguin, from whom she later received a large sum of money. She appeared in 1951's "Pickup", which flopped. She had more success with "The Girl on the Bridge". In 1952 she toured with the U.S.O. and was seen in "The Marrying Kind" and "No Holds Barred". In 1953 Beverly had her most noted role as Billie Nash in the film noir classic "Wicked Woman", where she co-starred with Richard Egan. She was soon to be seen on the small screen in "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Cheyenne". Married to Oscar-winning director Russell Rouse in 1955, she starred in 1956's "Women Without Men" and "Blonde Bait". She then bade farewell to show business to concentrate on raising her family. Beverly remained in Southern California until Rouse's death and lived her final years in Phoenix, Arizona. She died of a stroke at age 79 in 2007. Some of her movies are preserved on DVD.
