Annabelle R. (Bowser) Benson, 89, of West Kittanning, was called home to her Lord Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. She was born April 7, 1923, in Adrian, a daughter of the late Mathias Edgar and Mildred (Croyle) Bowser. She was a member of Montgomeryville Baptist Church, in Adrian, for more than 50 years where she was a deaconess and sang in the church choir. She married her husband, Raymond L. Benson, in 1948, and they resided in Homestead while her husband worked at Carnegie Illinois Steel Corporation where he was a lifetime employee. Her husband went home to his Lord Oct. 7, 1997, and Annabelle moved back to West Kittanning where she resided until illness struck her five weeks ago. Until that time, she was known for her loving, caring ways and endless energy. Ann will be missed by all who knew her. She was a housewife. Her hobbies included acrylic painting and she enjoyed activities at her church. She is survived by three sisters, Betty Noll, of Kittanning, Mae Dawn (Richard) AIbright, of Leechburg, and Helen Rumbaugh, of Naples, Fla.; two brothers, Corbin (Patricia) Bowser, of Worthington, and Larry (Janet) Bowser, of Marco Island, Fla., and Worthington; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bowser; seven nephews and six nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Benson; brother, Robert Bowser; and brothers-in-law, John Rumbaugh and Amos Noll. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home where additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Richard McCanna will officiate. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, in Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Annabelle's honor to Montgomeryville Baptist Church, in Adrian.
