Gene Andersen
Jul 5, 2003

Kermit Eugene "Gene" Andersen, a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2003, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Gene was born on Dec. 22, 1934, in Antelope County, Neb., to Verona (Wagner) and Wendell Andersen. He lived much of his younger life on a farm at Dannebrog, Neb. It is there that Gene met the love of his life and best friend, Eleanor Boltz. They were united in marriage on May 6, 1956. Together, they raised three children: Julie, Kent and Penni.

Gene served in the army from 1957-1959. He and Eleanor made many life-long friends while in the service. He worked at Island Supply in Grand Island, Neb., for 15 years. In 1968, Gene and Eleanor moved to Billings and worked together as
the regional distributors for Tupperware. They enjoyed a successful business and achieved many top national awards. They retired in January, 1995.

In retirement, Gene and Eleanor enjoyed many travels in the United States, Mexico and Caribbean, with their highlight being a month-long trip to Europe in 1999. They have many wonderful pictures and memories together.

Gene was an avid golfer with a lifetime achievement of three holes-in-one! He was always ready for a golf game. Gene also enjoyed his wintertime card games, especially when he won some nickels from his buddies! Gene's silly humor and big heart were intoxicating. He was a fun person to be around. You are loved so much and will be missed tremendously.

Gene and Eleanor are thankful for the many wonderful friends and family that have surrounded them in their life. Your love and support has helped them through this difficult time.

Gene is survived by his wife, Eleanor; their children and grandchildren, Julie (Bill) Schmitt, Derek and Angie (Troy); Kenton (Margi) Andersen, Kolbey, Nicholas and Riley; Penni (Jerry) Pearsall, Parker and Reese; two brothers; three sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

Gene and Eleanor are members at Atonement Lutheran Church, Wicks and Lake Elmo Drive. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Christikon
Church Camp or Cancer Society.
