Auline Bailey, 86, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late George and Belle (Crawford) Lowery. She grew up in Nacogdoches and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University. She married Oran Bright Bailey on Oct. 31, 1942. For 20 years, she taught elementary school and then became Dean of Women at Baylor University for 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 21, 1980; and seven brothers.

Survivors include sons, George Bailey, of Hillsboro, and John Bailey, of Houston; and grandsons, John and Jason Bailey.
