Lawton B. "Slim" Aitchison, 85, of Augusta, Kan., died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at LakePoint Nursing Center in Butler, Kan. Born in Franklin County, he was a former sheet metal mechanic with Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Local survivors include a brother, David Aitchison of Ozark; and two sisters, Joyce Kenny and Ola Mae Bowman, both of Ozark. The funeral was Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, Kan. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Healthcare, 125 N. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
