He made his Hollywood film debut in 1959 in "The Hanging Tree," with Gary Cooper, and had memorable roles in "The Bad News Bears" in 1976, "Clean and Sober" in 1988, "Mask" in 1985 and as 20th Century-Fox co-founder/studio mogul Darryl F. Zanuck in "Guilty by Suspicion" in 1991. His 40-year career also included numerous television guest appearances on shows such as "Dynasty," "Dallas," "St. Elsewhere" and "Family Ties." He died of AIDS in 1991.
