Lucia Woods was 92 when she passed away on January 29, 2015 surrounded by family in the comfort of her home.
Lucia was born Chamela, Mexico on December 13, 1922 to Vernie and Victoria Medlin. She was the second born of 10 children: Carlos, Lilly, June, Beatrice, John, Vernie, Oscar, Melton and Roy.
Lucia was preceded by her parents, Vernie and Victoria, her husband, Ralph Woods, her siblings: Carlos, Lilly, June Beatrice, John, Oscar, Melton and Roy and her daughter Betty Jean Kroll.
She is survived by her brother, Vernie Medlin, five of her six children, Evelyn and Ronald Bond, Edith and James Dobson, Charles and Karen Earhart, Mary Woods and Donald Kahler, and Dewitt and Jennine Woods, along with 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Lucia was a brave woman whose strength and faith anchored her family. To know Lucia was to be loved by her, to be fed by her and to have your faith built up by her. She was a small woman that had a huge impact. We invite you to join us to honor and celebrate Lucia's life Monday February 2nd at Mission South Funeral Home.
