He was taken seriously ill with pneumonia on Wednesday, January 9, and his condition became gradually worse until Monday evening, when death came to end his terrible sufferings.
Fredrick L. Fishtorn was the oldest son of Fred and Mary Fishtorn, and was born in Winamac on March 10, 1909, and was 19 years, 10 months and 11 days of age.
He was graduated from the Pulaski high school with the class of '28. Following his graduation he went to Chicago, where he had been employed until the first of the year. On the day he became ill he was signed up to take a position with the Western Electric Company.
Freddie was a member of the Methodist church and was an ardent Sunday school worker and his kindness and thoughts of others had won him a host of friends.
Surviving are: his parents, one brother, George Martin and two sisters, Lorraine and Myra, all at home; one sister, Anna passed away ten years ago, also a brother, a short time after her demise.
The funeral was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist church, with services by Rev. J. E. McCloud. Interment was made in the Winamac cemetery. -- Winamac Republican, Jan. 24, 1929
