William Kenneth Thompson, 81, of Troy, passed away 1:28 p.m. Friday, April 04, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Lenoir City, Tenn. on August 5, 1932 to the late Archie and Sarah (Rimer) Thompson. He was married to Jackie Marvelene Blanton on January 7, 1960, and she survives. William is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Pat Thompson of Troy, Rick Thompson of Tipp City; two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Pat Borton of Troy, Lydonna Chaney of Troy; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; six siblings, Mildred Hall of Alabama, Polly Harvey of Florida, Jean Malone of Tenn., Dallas Thompson of Ohio, Arlis Thompson of Indiana, and Ray Thompson of Tenn. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Troy Austin Thompson; two brothers, Earl Thompson and Don Thompson; and two sisters, Ellen Green and Wilma Farr. William was a member of Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Dayton. He was a member of the Troy Fish and Game Club and the Staunton Grange. He was retired as a self-employed concrete finisher. He was an avid deer and squirrel hunter with his family. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Tim Livingston officiating. Visitation will be 12 noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Interment will be in Casstown Cemetery in Casstown. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O.
