Paula was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a 1949 graduate of Little Flower High School. After her schooling, she went to work for the Federal Reserve Bank. It was here that she met James Agnew. The two worked together, getting to know each other, for four years before dating in 1954. They were married in 1957 at St. Martin of Tours Parish in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia. They started their lives together in Lansdowne before moving into Maple Glen where they raised their family for 40 years. During her time in Maple Glen, Paula started working as School Secretary at St. Alphonsus Catholic School where her children attended. She survived a battle with breast cancer and, with that strength, decided that she can get over her fear of flying. She started with a flight to Florida and then followed it with many trips including her favorite travels to Ireland. Paula enjoyed following Irish genealogy, reading, and cooking.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002. Her graveside service will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
