Albert W. Allen who for almost a year has been suffering from paralytic strokes and a tumor of the brain passed away at the home of sister, Mrs. Victor Skoglund on April 9th.
Albert Allen was born at Brandon, Feb. 25, 1890 and came to Alexandria with his parents when he was two years old, since then he has made his home here continually up to the time of his death. For several years past he has been employed at the summer home of A. A. McDonnel near here.
On Last July 4, he broke his right arm at the wrist and shortly afterward that arm became completely paralyzed. After that he suffered several paralytic strokes and it at last became difficult for him to talk and he was moved to St. Paul and later to Rochester where he submitted to an operation for tumor of the brain. The operation however was unsuccessful and he returned to Alexandria to make his home with his sister Mrs. Skoglund where he remained up to the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn him one brother, John Allen of Alexandria, and four sisters: Ella, Mrs. Victor Skoglund; Lillie, Mrs. James A. Madison, both the latter of Alexandria; Emma, Mrs. Alfred Alm, and Miss Ida Allen of St. Paul; also a half sister, Clara, Mrs. Newberg of Willmar. Both his parents have been dead for a number of years.
Funeral services were conducted from the Skoglund home by Rev. Carlson last Saturday and the remains were laid to rest in Geneva Woods cemetery.
