Mrs. Jack, 89, of Rochester, died Sunday (March 23, 2008) at Seasons Hospice.
Florence Marie Alzheimer was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Breckenridge, Minn., and she grew up there. Following high school, she moved to Denver and graduated from beautician school. For more than 40 years, she was a beautician in Denver. In 1972 she married Jay Price in Denver; he died in 1975. She married Francis R. Jack in Denver on Oct. 18, 1980, and the couple moved to Rochester. Mr. Jack, a retired farmer, preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2004.
Mrs. Jack enjoyed crafting, quilting, baking and traveling. She and her second husband wintered in Yuma, Ariz. She was also a member of the St. Bridget's Altar Society and the church sewing club.
She is survived by three stepchildren, Debbie (Scott) Jacobson and Anthony "Tony" Jack, both of Rochester, and Gary (Janell) Jack of Winona; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernie Alzheimer of Breckenridge. She was preceded in death by two husbands and nine brothers and sisters
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to St. Bridget's Catholic Church or Seasons Hospice.
