He was born Aug. 30, 1911, to Knut and Aasta Asmundson south of Blaisdell. In 1913, he moved with his family Ree Township, Ward County. He grew there and attended Viola School. He lived and farmed in Ree Township throughout his life.
He was a member of St. Olaf's Lutheran Church, Tagus, and served on the church council. He also was a member of the Minot Elks Lodge.

Funeral: Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold.
Graveside service: Monday at 4:30 p.m. in St. Olaf's Cemetery, Tagus.
Visitation: Today and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 11 in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home. Minot.
