Barbara Jean Barns was the first-born child of Edd Thomas Barnes and Frances Scroggins Barnes. She spent her early days in rural areas of Madison County and Gibson County, Tennessee She delighted in sharing time with her paternal grandmother, Pearl Barns, whom she called "Mama Pearl."
In the mid-1950s, the Edd Barnes family moved to Maury County, Tennessee, where Barbara completed here education, graduating in 1962 from Central High School.
Barbara married Robert W. Baker, Jr., aka Buddy. They became the parents of a daughter Yvette and a son Robert W. III, aka Rob.
After the children were grown, Barbara and Buddy relocated to Greenville, Kentucky where they became entrepreneurs of their own grocery. Barbara then obtained a real estate license and became a successful realtor. Her love for antique dolls moved her doll collecting hobby forward into a business of buying and selling dolls.
Barbara was my 1st cousin. (Carol Barrett Stricklin)
