TAUNTON - Alice F. (Barradas) Butler, wife of the late Carlton Butler, died at Island Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeville on Jan. 3, 2012. She was 93. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joaquin and Maria (Sylvia) Barradas. Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a graduate of Taunton High School. A Longtime Taunton resident, Mrs. Butler was a homemaker for most of her adult life, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and playing the piano. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding, skiing and ice-skating. She was also fond of cooking and will be remembered as a fabulous cook. Mrs. Butler was a longtime resident of the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Survivors include a son, Michael J. Butler and his wife Lorna of Lakeville; two brothers, John Barradas of Taunton, and Robert Barradas of North Attleboro; three grandchildren, Melissa A. Butler of Taunton, Craig T. Butler and his wife Ekaterini of Assonet, and Michael C. Butler of Lakeville; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Craig F. Butler, the mother-in-law of the late Janet R. Butler; and the stepsister of the late Antone and Mary Paige. Funeral Services were held privately at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton. She was interred at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
