WILDING - Bertha Snyder Bates, 78, of Wilding, Jackson County, died Jan. 5, 1998, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness.
She was a homemaker and a former cook at The Bounty Table, Ravenswood, and McCoy's Best Western, Ripley. She was a Protestant.
Surviving: husband, Clyde; sons, Robert of Wilding, Clyde D. of Lubeck; daughters, Peggy Combs of Cottageville, Jacqueline Davis of Rio Grande, Ohio; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
