Dorothy Mae (Bayne) Anderson was born May 16, 1928 to Marion and Emma (Rath) Bayne in Coleridge, Nebraska.

Dorothy died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at her home in Madison, Nebraska.

Dorothy attended Pearl Creek School through the 10th grade in Cedar County, Nebraska. She graduated from Coleridge (NE.) High School as a member of the class of 1945.

On February 18, 1947, she married Donald Aloise Anderson in Coleridge, Nebraska.

They farmed in the Laurel, Nebraska area until moving to a farm northwest of Madison, Nebraska in 1952. After a couple of years, they and their three children moved to the present family farm, southeast of Battle Creek, Nebraska.

Dorothy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Battle Creek, Nebraska.

Working hand in hand beside her husband, Dorothy and Donald established a firm foundation based upon hard work, the land, home and family.

At the center of her world were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To many of them, she was Grandma Chickens and/or Grandma Farm. She was frequently on the go attending their birthday parties, school functions, and summer youth activities. In her life, strangers didn't stay strangers for very long.

Dorothy is survived by: son, Rodney and his wife Jeanette (Lauver) of Creighton, Nebraska; daughter, Sharilyn Lemke and her husband, Gary, of Osmond, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Connie (Klug) Anderson, wife of the late Eldon Anderson of Newman Grove, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lowell (wife Beverly) Bayne of Meadow Grove, Nebraska and Virgil Bayne of Coleridge, Nebraska; sister, Vivian Ropte of Madison, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Myrna (Anderson) Collins of Coleridge, Nebraska and a host of family and friends.

SDorothy was preceded in death by: husband, Donald Anderson; parents; son, Eldon Anderson; brother-in-law, Floyd Anderson; sister-in-law, Velda Bayne; brother-in -law, Donald Ropte and brother-in-law, Richard Collins.

Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Battle Creek, Nebraska.
