NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Lenore F. Banks, 77, of North Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will 11:30 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Sister Marlys officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.

Mrs. Banks was born June 18, 1927, in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mae (Malcom) Behrens. She graduated from Jefferson (S.D.) High School and later attended I.B.S. in Sioux City.

She was united in marriage to Wurth Banks on July 6, 1946. He passed away Oct. 2, 1995.

She lived on a farm near Westfield, Iowa, until the death of her husband, then moved to McCook Mobil Estate in North Sioux City in October 1997. She was a homemaker.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, bowling, spending time at the lake, volunteering at the Senior Center and delivering Meals of Wheels.

Survivors include a daughter, Candace Banks and her friend, Cedele Smith of Jefferson, S.D.; three grandchildren, Pam (Boersma) and her husband, Heath Husk of Le Mars, Iowa, Judy (Boersma) and her husband, Darwin Olson of Le Mars, Iowa, and Scott Boersma currently a world traveler; four great-grandchildren, Steven Husk, Joey Husk, Brandon Olson and Caleb Olson; two sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Florence Boersma; an infant son, George Russell Banks; three sisters; five brothers; and a son-in-law, LeRoy Boersma.
