Ana Maria Benson, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of cancer.

She was born May 28, 1938 in Laredo, Texas, to Manuel R. Torres and Ana Maria Zertuche Torres. She was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

On July 3, 1954, she married Rondo L. Benson. She was a housewife and she farmed side-by-side with her husband for about 10 years. At the time of her death, she was helping him with a rental home business.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Rondo L. Benson; goddaughter, Yulissa Beltran; siblings: Rodolfo (Thelma) Torres, Carlos (Maria) Torres and Margie Ortiz; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews, as well as many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Manuel L. Benson; four brothers: Alfredo Torres, Manuel Torres Jr., Oscar Torres and Reynaldo Torres; and a sister, Norma Estela Torres.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., today, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward, 1155 E. 1st Street, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Michael D. Baird officiating, and President H. Dean Arnoldsen presiding.

The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, and will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery, Plano, Idaho.
