Ruby, who was a farmer, was the son of Joe and Edna Peavler Centers. He was born Nov 8, 1897 in Muhlenberg County. At the age of 20, Ruby came down with pneumonia and died a week later on Apr 19, 1918. He is buried at Rosewood Cemetery. They had no children.
After Ruby died, Alpha moved back home with Ed and Alice until her marriage to John William Blackwell on Mar 2, 1922 in Muhlenberg County. John was born Sept 9, 1900 in Kentucky to William and Mary Blackwell.
Alpha and John had a son, James Dearl Blackwell, who was born Oct 9, 1933 and died Oct 17, 1933 from a weak heart.
