JEROME • Alan Todd Boguslawski, 52, of Jerome, died Monday, August 18, 2014 of a sudden illness, in Twin Falls.
Alan was born April 9, 1962, in Jerome, Idaho. His parents Karren and Lorna Boguslawski farmed north of town with their six children. He attended Jerome Schools, graduating in 1980. He stayed in Jerome after graduation where he continued to live, love, work and raise his family until his death.
He married the love of his life, Kristy Hughes of Jerome, December 8, 1989, and then added to their family with the births of Tom, Beth and Alex. They later added Alan’s nieces, Larissa and Hannah to their family and raised them as their own.
Alan and his family started out farming with his parents and then later farmed with his brother Phyllip. The farm was sold in 2000 when his father retired, so Alan and Kristy moved their family to town. They bought a home and filled it not just with their kids, but every kid within a ten mile radius. They were often asked how many kids were actually theirs, as every kid called them Papa Bogi and Mama Bogi. It was always a house filled with good food, plenty of laughter and lots of love.
Alan may have worked as a truck driver, but his true passion was his children. He would do anything for them and their friends. His big booming voice and laugh made it easy to pick him out in a crowd. He loved watching movies, reading and music.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Kristy, and their five children, Thomas, Bethany, Alex, Larissa and Hannah all of Jerome. His brothers and sisters are Marcus (Sandy) Boguslawski of Jerome; Cheri (Russ) Martin of Jerome; Phyllip (Linda) Boguslawski of Jerome; Russell Boguslawski of Salt Lake City and Rachelle Boguslawski of Nampa.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at St. Luke’s Magic Valley ICU for their kindness and compassion, especially Dave, Jon and Rob.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 216 Second Ave. E., Jerome, with Father Rob Irwin presiding. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
