NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Kathleen Ann Angell, 75, a beloved mother, grandmother and retired teacher, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011.

Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, followed by visitation with the family and loved ones.

Memorials: St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas 76117.

Kathleen was born Sept. 24, 1935, to Cleveland McCoy and Mary Bratton. She grew up in East Texas and graduated from Carlisle High School in 1954. Kathleen was a cheerleader and a member of the Pine Burr Chi Omega sorority at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, where she met and married her college sweetheart, Joe Angell. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin, earning a bachelor of science degree in education. Kathleen taught elementary school and home economics in junior high and high school. She was an inspiration to many students and those who knew and loved her. She began working for the Birdville Independent School District in 1957 and retired in 1991.

She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Kathleen loved to travel and spend time with her family and countless number of friends. She loved life and she lived it with a passion. She loved to entertain, to vacation in the mountains, and take day and weekend "out and about" trips with friends and family. Kathleen Angell will be remembered for her beautiful smile, passion for life and her devotion to her family.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful medical staff for their outstanding care of their mother in her final days.

She was preceded in life by her husband, Joe L. Angell; her parents; and her sister, Cleva Jean Guillot.

Survivors: Daughters, Allison Vinson Kennedy and husband, Mickey, of Keller and Jeri Elliott and husband, Bobby, of Rhome; grandchildren, Shannon Croft and husband, Kevin, Austin Hall and Baylee Vinson; great-grandchildren, Kayla Ann Croft and Carter Joe Croft; nieces and nephews; and a wealth of treasured friends.
