Leila was born in the Calumet County part of the City of Kiel. Her Mother died in 1931 and the children went to live with various relatives. Leila moved to Stratford,Wisconsin and she was raised by her Aunt Emma Jones. She moved to Sheboygan in 1945 and 9th May, 1947, she married Harold E.Ahrens of Sheboygan in Dubuque,Iowa.
She was survived by her husband, their son and his wife and their daughter and her husband,five grandchildren, her sister Marion and her husband Earl Hamman of Venice ,Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents,and her three brothers, Reuben, Willard and Clarence.
