Heart ailment fatal to Arch Caudill

Arch Caudill, 59, of Williamsburg, died June 21 at a Corbin hospital of a heart ailment. He had been ill only a few days.

A native of Letcher County, he was a science teacher at Williamsburg High School.

He was graduated from Stuart Robinson High School and received his degree from Centre College in 1930. He was a manager for the old Farm Security Administration for Whitley and several other counties for several years, then in a mercantile business at Williamsburg before taking up teaching. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Masonic Lodge at Williamsburg. He also was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity at Centre College.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Richardson Caudill; two daughters, Hettie Lou Caudill and Mrs. Nancy Eleanor Smith; two sons, William An?? (??d) of the Air Force and Archibald (Pat) of Williamsburg; his mother, Mrs. Hettie Caudill, Blackey; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Caudill May of Norris City, Ill., and Mrs. Marie Rogers, of Hazard, and a brother, Larry Caudill, Blackey. He was a brother of the late Dr. F. W. Caudill of Louisville.
