Earl Cook, 97, of Taylorville, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

Earl was born June 4, 1917, in Springfield, the son of Thomas and Edna (Robertson) Cook. Earl proudly served our country as a Gunner 1st Mate in the Navy during WWII. He would later serve as a Commander of VFW Post #755.

Earl married Goldie Phillips, Dorothy Anders, and Vesta Richards, all of whom preceded him in death.

Earl worked for Fiat-Allis, Wolfson's Furniture Store, and then for Local Laborers 477 until he retired. Outside of work he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Earl was a member of Grace Memorial Church in Edinburg.

Earl is survived by his daughters, Mary and Delores ; sons: John , Steve , Fred and Danny;; brothers, Harold and William ; sisters: Mary, Dorothy and Evelyn. Earl was also preceded in death by three sisters: Susan Cook, Myrtle Hibbs and Marjean Cisco; and three brothers: Floyd, Charles "Pete" and John "Jack" Cook.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
