Mary K. Culverson, 90, of Port Ornage, Florida, formerly of Elgin passed away March 22, 2005 at Hospice of Volusia/Flager in Port Orange.
She was born August 20, 1914 in Chicago the daughter of Joseph and Loretta Moore Davis. She attended Dundee High School for two years and was a graduate of Calumet High School in 1933. She had been employed at the Elgin National Watch Co. and then Skakeproof Division of Illinois Tools Works as a machine operator for 22 years before retiring. She loved to bowl and was active in the Wednesday Afternoon Ladies, the Bowlway Belles and Bowling Mixers.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Miller of Port Orange, FL; her son, William E. (Peggy) Culverson of Nipomo, CA; six grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister, Jean E. Davis of Long Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Brown Miller; sister, Shirley Ann Smith; brother, John Davis.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 2 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, Elgin with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home.
