Funeral on Wednesday at Her Late
Home on Homer-Ave.
The funeral of Mrs. Alice E. Doran, who died Monday afternoon from neuralgia of the heart, was held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from her late home, 70 Homer-Ave. The services were private, and were conducted by Rev. W.S. Lyon, pastor of the Homer-Ave. M.E. church, of which the deceased was a faithful member. The interment was in the Rural cemetery.
Mrs. Doran, whose maiden name was Alice Elizabeth Fairchild, was born in Pitcher, August 8, 1843. She was married to Emory Charles Doran, of Union Valley on April 9, 1863. Their married life was spent in Cortland county principally at Marathon and in Cortland. Mr. Doran died in August, 1910.
Mrs. Doran is survived by one son Fred Doran, and two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Wadsworth and Miss Lena Doran all of Cortland; by three grandchildren - Emory Goran, of Preble and Mrs. Leo J. Foster and Earle H. Tarbell, of this city. Each of the three grandchildren has a child, this making three great-grandchildren who survive. The fourth day of August was Mrs. Doran's seventieth birthday, and, as had been the custom for several years past, she was photographed with one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the picture representing four generations. Those who sat with her for the picture were her daughter, Mrs. Wadsworth, her grand-child, Mrs. Tarbell, and her great-grandchild, Mildred A. Tarbell.
